enclosure buildup pictures

Post by Paralyzer » Thu Mar 30, 2006 12:19 am

This is an enclosure that me and my friend is building. It is a slow but steady progress. It is built for 2 15" CVR's and a 850x1 planet audio amp. Today we actually had to take the port board off because the pressure of the subs busted the lower support board in half as you can see in the pictures and also busted to screw heads right off. So we had to go in and do some reinforcement peices to support the pressure.

These next images are of the support board broken due to the pressure!

Looks like you could've used some more screws and some better glue. Or maybe just better wood.

fiberglass isnt really that strong either. thats why you'll see alot of the fiberglass enclosures are made of wood first and the fiberglass just gives is a smooth shape.

Thats gotta be on heavy box! Medite right? Probes are great for Kicker subs; airspace can't be beat and they hit so hard in those cars. Looks great. Post more pics of the finished product!

Makes me wonder why they don't make CF enclosures. Now that would be hot.

VEry impressive car, I spoke to one of the guys that helped build the car at HIN ATL 2004. It is also in this month's issue of HCI mag.

Its really expensive and if you mess up, theres no turning back. I think thats why no one really does it. I wanted to when I did mine

I always use brad nails when i build boxes, if you MUST use screws, place them about every 2 inches apart...

if you use brads, go about every 2-4inches, especially with that kinda setup...

also, make sure you glue better next time, or at least, a more uniform coverage...

the blue paint was from trim peices that he made for the Electronic Express Subwoofer display. The store here is new and only a few months old, and the guys that was here when the store opened up had no idea how to set it up and the display subs sounded awful. So he created his own setup in the store and now the businesses near them complain they things are falling off of the walls in the other stores.
