Alright guys lets noob it up *semi urgent*

Alright, so im trying to yank my old muffler off, at the part where the pipe goes up from the muffler and mets at that place where the two pipes overlap each other.

Am im going to have to weld/cut this off or will i be able to hit/pull-hard enough to get it off. I already took the flang off that connected the two together. I just dont want to look like a idiot trying to pull something off with my hands and brute force when im going to have to cut it.

its not welded, its just clamped on there... so depending on the amount of rust thats on it, you should be able to use brute force and maybe a BFH

loosen the clamp(duh) and get your hands on a blow torch(not a cheap propane one) heat it up to a glowing red and twist back and forth while pulling back. It will eventually work loose and you dont have to worry about cutting it

yeah mine just took some muscle and some wd40. the bushings come out of the hangers much easier with some grease. looks like your all set.

All and all a pretty good day, i got my r/t exhaust in, my resonater box out, and in a few hours me and my sisters boyfriend are putting in some new speakers.

More mods to follow in a week or so, and im going to upload some photos of it all later tonight in the picture section.

PB Blaster works alot better than WD40.. Wont work on my car with out it.. Especially here in Florida.. Rust is such a pain in the ass

i dont have to worry about my exhaust rusting anymore. In CA we dont have huge rust/salt issues, but id like to get stainless everything anyways, cuz rust is UGLY. especially on the rotors. eww

Heard my hometown is under water. Bear Creek and Black Raskel creek are over flowing..

It's a mess; levees burst, sewer systems failed, rivers, canals, and ponding basins overflowed into peoples houses. My county was declared a disastor zone, im sure others were as well.

AFAIK, 03+ were not welded; you guys got off lucky. i did the exhaust on my friends 03 sxt (put a stock srt catback on) in about 30mins including removal of the old exhaust and install of new one.... i worked for ATLEAST two hours on my '01 R/T just trying to get the rear section off, but no luck

i had 2 tree trunks from a cut tree under the muffler too so when it came down, it wouldnt thud on the drive way... i got it sitting aside now i damn near perfect condition along with the midpipe

when i move to east texas, im puttin those along with some my other stock parts into storage bins in the garage, and stick those in the bare rafters above

never know when u might need a stock backup part

I didnt even need to muscle mine off... just loosen the clamp, couple little wiggles of the pipe and it fell right off.
