Tire shop did this to mine. They backed an F-150 into it at "quite a high speed" is what the autobody shop said.

Had to replace the whole rear end of the car. Trunk Lid, Spoiler, Bumper, Both Quarter Panels, Car was on the frame stretcher for awhile cause they hit it at an angle. Even the trunk pan was bent back all the way to the spare tire well. It was ugly inside that trunk. Broke the Exhaust Hangers, Bent the tips, both taillights were cracked etc etc.

Their insurance company said I was "LUCKY" that the car wasnt totalled. I told them that the TIRE SHOP was LUCKY that they car wasnt totalled. I had a Nice Black 05 SRT-4 with 2,000 miles on it all picked out while the Insurance company was getting the bill. Almost... Almost

SRT-4 is what I was thinking to. But its a bit expensive and i cant find any at auto yards.

As for heating, I never thought of that, I mean it is plastic basically so it should work, Although im not sure I could do it right.

My brother was following me home from picking up his car and he hydroplaned into the back of me. He has a tank so it hardly did anything to his car.

yo, the heating isnt that hard. I mean just dont melt the plastic thats all. Just make sure you have the bumper on like a towel or something and just heat a little and mold then heat then mold until its back into place. Its not hard at all and take only like 15 mins to fix and saves you some money in your pocket

btw your bumper is already fucked....why not just try it, if it doesnt work then fuck it but if it does then great! Woo!

I did this back in January and we used a hair dryer and some force from inside the bumper to pop out this mess. You can't even tell I bungled it up and it was a cheap fix..

Damn they should sticky that.

I know if that happened to my car I wouldn't think about fixing it at all. Just buying another.

But damn do our bumpers get FUGLY when they get hit.

blue dragon.....You have to go to the rear wheel under the fender there are 2 star screws....you gotta take them off then pull the flat out. Then look straight up and there are 3 screws....Take those off, after that open the trunk and there are 4 screws with washer like rubber peices.....take them off then pulll off the bumper....(be careful because the liscence plate light is attached to it, just remove that and then your all set.

Thanks

Post by Blue Dragon » Fri Apr 07, 2006 3:56 pm

That helps a lot, I have two problems still though.

1) My trunk wont open, but i may be able to work that out

2) If you look at the bumper the outcropped portion by the license plate is split on the edge faceting the license plate. I was thinking i could cut it out and replace both with something else, but im not sure what that would be yet. I m still trying to figure it out.

I was never to fond of that part of the bumper anyway.

Any suggestions would help.

if you cant open the trunk from the outside, you may have to crawl thru your car from the backseats and try to open it that way :? As for the bumper, go buy an srt- rear bumper  Or if your good w/ fiber glass, you could fix the dents, and fiberglass repair the torn spots
