erm 6.5" in your dash? you mean your doors? the tweeters in the dash can be replaced w/ 3.5" speakers (but a bass blocker on them)
and youn only need a 4-channel amp to power the speakers, the speakers in the dash are tied into the front speakers.
a 4-channel amp means that it accepts 4 diff audio channels (FL, FR, RL, RR) a 2-channel accepts 2 audio channels (FF, FR or RL, RR)
hope that helps out some

i know there tweeters in the dash but i was thinking about mounting 6.5s up there and another set in my rear doors. so if i did that i would need 2 4 channel amps.

your going to have a hard time mounting 6.5" speakers up there, theres really no room
and no, you would still only need 1, 4-channel amp

He means that in a good sounding car you won't really hear the back speakers..they are more just there to fill the car while most of the sound comes from the components up front.
