Headers
I know everyone talks about how the long tube will give the best gains. What about the medium tube header by TTI that Howell sells? It says the gains are between a long tube and short tube? IS anyone running this?
If i went with a longtube, is there any clearance issues under the car?? I have it dropped with Eibach springs.
If i buy the longtube or medtube do i have to get a bung welded into it for the O2 sensor??
Lastly, is the ceramic coating really worth it. Thanks
Edit**** b4 anyone says anything...it should be header and not headers...doh only have 1

I can not say I have any personal experience with this, but if you were going to buy a 'medium' tube, you would probably be better off going with the magnum header - I could be wrong, but it would probably net you same hp #'s and be an easier install. Better wait for a better response though, cause I totally didn't answer your question
As for ceramic coating, yes, it is really worth it.

i have the tti longtube (medium, whatever) and also had the obx short tube. the gains are definitely better with the long tube if you plan on going with anything beyond a few of the basic bolt-ons. beware that without lots of catalytic converter/muffler/resonator bits the long tube is loud!!! the tti is louder than the obx and thermal research without cat was even with a high flow cat and dynomax muffler installed. just some experiences i've had.
oh, btw review closely the size of the primaries and collector on the different headers b/c the differences will greatly affect your performance gains as you advance with modifications. other motor guys will be able to give you better advice.

ooh...there's a glimmer of the dream left!!!

yes it doesphenomeneon21 wrote:and if you get it done by jet-hot they offer a sterling ceramic coating which makes it look shiny and purty...haha
I dont know personally about the gains just yet...but I know my FF LT looks like its very well made and I have always heard it is a really good one for our cars. I hear there can be clearance issues if the car is really low...but like i said, I dont really know from experience yet....

I had no clearance problems with the tti med header. You will have to replace the cat with either a shorter one or eliminate it all together. You will also have to weld a bung for the downstream o2 or use the plug in eliminator that howell sells. The gains are well worth the work I'm very pleased with ours.
