Had My Close Call Today...

Post by 03sxt » Tue Apr 18, 2006 2:41 pm

Okay so the wife and I are coming home from running errands today and getting things ready for tomorrow's flight to Florida and we're coming down Lake Road (State Rt. 531) and we're cruising along at 55mph having a conversation about the trip tomorrow when some fucking retarded middle-age bitch decides she wants to test my brakes by pulling out in front of us (from a distance of about 200 ft.) in her red ugly fucking Mazda 6 stationwagon. I hesitated the brake at first because it looked like she had second-thought her decision and decided to stay, but no.... She pulls RIGHT out in front of me and sure enough, I lock up all four tires and the car started to get squirrely all over the road - I had to let off for a sec just as we got to about 20 feet from her car, then I relocked 'em up as soon as I got the car straight again... The fucking bitch NEVER even looked over at me and my plume of blue-ish gray smoke that followed!! How ignorant! I was even kind enough to yell out my window, "YOU FUCKING UGLY STUPID BITCH!" as my wife was about ready to pass out (she passes out pretty easy), so of course I was more scared for her. In the end, we're both alright (which is the most important thing) and I laid about 50 feet of black marks which I'm going to go investigate a little better later to check out if I can see where it went a little fishy on me, just because I'm curious how fishy it really got... Under the instant adrenaline rush, I couldn't tell really how fishy the car really got, I just know it started swerving pretty good and if I wouldn't have let off the brakes for a second, we would've went through a couple front lawns and probably into a tree or a house... This is the closest I've ever been to totalling out any of my vehicles... I'm quite shaky still but that should wear off it a bit... If it doesn't - I'm sure when I toss a cinder block through her windshield (I know where she lives...) on my way to work tonight, I'll feel better then.

I hate people sometimes. She owes me about $20 for the tread I left out front of her house.

Uh oh. I hate when that happens but I'm glad you and your wife are ok. I had somebody do that to me last year. Went from 60-0 pretty quick and the guy did the same thing. Didn't even look as they cut in front of me and had the audacity to give me a dirty look when I honked at them.

Might check all 4 of your tires for bald spots: my tires were brand new and I wore the back tires down so far that I had to replace them since they were now bald in spots and unsafe. If you do find any problems at least you can go talk to the lady; suggest a driving course or better glasses..

Enjoy your trip!

 That's a good idea, too... Although, I was also thinking about how I haven't gotten to use my new paintball gun, yet.

Thanks, man. It would've sucked to have to try to handle the insurance bullshit while down in Florida on vacation. :?

Thanks, and yeah... People are just so stupid sometimes - I was half tempted to turn around and go have a chat with her, but she probably never would've seen me and I would've been forced to run her off the damn road to get her attention. Which didn't sound like a terribly bad idea at the time. I did a quick check over on the tires when I got home and I couldn't even see any 'clean' spots, let alone any damage... I'll be checking again before I head off to work, just to be sure. And thanks on the 'enjoy your trip' part. :D

No BRR curse for me, dammit. :) And I told my wife the same thing about the brakes... IF I wouldn't have changed the brakes, we'd probably be in pretty rough shape right now and the car would be a total loss.

 "I beat the curse's design!" Scary, I know... I was just telling Jess that it scared me even more because there have been like 5 'wrecked' posts within the last few months on 2GN and we almost had to make a post for our poor 2GN. We got so lucky and I'm SO glad that I have good reflexes when it comes to stuff like that. I wasn't even really paying attention (which I know is bad but we all do it)... I just saw that car at the very last second. I bet my grampa was watching over us. :)

Oh yeah, I went by the near-crash-scene about two hours ago and saw my nice black marks and they looked fairly straight except for where she wobbled a bit, but nothing extreme... And I saw the 6" gap where I let of the brakes for a quick sec, too. I also noticed the red Mazda stationwagon sitting in the driveway with like two 30-ish year old guys and a 20-ish year old lady... She strikingly resembled what I did catch of the bitch that pulled out in front of me... I was half tempted to stop, but then I decided I'd blow my cover if I ever decided to get a smidgen of revenge somehow...

^which is one day going to cause you your life possibly....I hope it doesnt, but just because the other driver is acting ilke an idiot does not give everyone else the same excuse to do the same thing "just to get their attention''. sure you REALLY want to, because they almost made you wreck and made you mad, but Id think 2x. I think2x about everything now since that civic hit me.

That is how accidents happen.

Yeah, there have been a few times that someone's pulled out in front of me and maybe I'll ride there ass, but that's when I absolutely know what's going on and the speeds aren't near as high... But this was wayyy out of nowhere and I was travelling near 60mph and it was a complete surprise. Not fun. I just don't understand how people can be so stupid... Or blind? And I can't believe she didn't even acknowledge that we almost smeared her... She would've been way more effed up than we would've been since we would've T-Boned her right at her driver's side door. She woulda' been dead... How would that make me feel even though she was being a retard? I would've still felt bad and go through counseling and all that jazz because I killed some damn idiot. Oh well.... Life goes on definitely and maybe she'll bit a bit more aware next time she pulls out of here little driveway/side street. We can only hope... That's my fire department's district so hopefully I won't be scraping her off the asphalt there in the future.

well that sounded far worse than i intended it to be, its not at high speeds or anything like that and i have total control of my car and the situation. im not gunna ride someone going 65 is what im saying. im saying that if someone pulls out in front of me and it causes me to slow down ill just coast right up to them. i wont break right away.

man i hate when people do stuff like that. shit pisses me off like no other. i mean damn is it that hard to stop and pay attention? i was driving down one of the main roads not too long ago...i come to an intersection and keep going through traveling in the far right lane. it was green so i just kept on going just chillan driving on my way to work. as i start to go though the intersection this stupid ass fuckin whore bitch just comes flying out and turns right onto the road im traveling on. no hesitation what so ever to stop. doesnt even look. just comes into the right turn hard as hell car leaning and all and turns out right in front of me pretty much. like as she was turning out into my lane i was swerving into the other type of thing. and i was traveling at about 50 55 (speed limit is 55 on this road) so it wouldnt of been very good if she hit me. thank god no one was in the lane next to me so i was able to swerved over into it and she barely misses me. and the thing that pissed me off the most is she still seemed to not even notice she almost hit me because i was able to glance over at her as i swerved and she wasnt even paying attention to what was going on. that pissed me off so bad that i had to run her ass off the road. i did not give a fuck. that person does not need to be driving. ever.

Glad you and yours are ok. I commute with a million other idiots so that crap happens at least once a week.
The creepy squirrely thing quit for me when I lowered the car. It stopped faster with the new rotors and Hawk pads too. Worth every penny bro.

Oh....a well-placed sparkplug will do wonders for the windows of her car....loose change is good too..(I've tossed it at a biker dude who smacked my mirror splitting traffic, dick thought he lost me, haha)

haha yeh 03 when you come to orlando be prepared for all kinds of idiots. i seriously think half the people on the road here do not know what they are doing when they get behind the wheel and would probably fail the hell out of the drivers test if they had to take it again. i hear it is even worse in miami than here...just a heads up for you though

 Yeah, I'm here and I'll be here (Gotha, FL) until next Wednesday afternoon... I'll be driving the mother-in-law's new Chrysler Sebring Convertible while I'm down here which isn't my car of choice, but it's better than having nothing or paying $300 a week for a rental. :)

And BTW, thanks everyone for your concern about the retarded bitch situation. :D
