So I found this car in a magazine and found some quick info on it online. looks awesome and pwns the caliber IMO. Its designed to compete with the xb and other mini cars, and it looks to be damn nice. check it-
170hp boosted 1.6 dohc , six speed, 130mph max speed. more info to come soon im sure, this is pretty new stuff. anyone else heard about this yet? i guess its for real, theyre preparing to produce it soon from what I understand, maybe in time for a late 07 or 08 release. heres some more info and pics:

That thing is fugly. I'd rather an xB.
And yes, I've heard about it, didn't keep up on it though, was hoping they wouldn't make it.

I would much rather have the Honda Fit but I looks just as good as all the rest of the super mini compact cars.....It will be the new wave of the future. I think that I might buy one and throw the srt motor in......

the honda fit is hot, but underpowered. I love how dodge makes sure their cars are the best (performance wise) in their class. even the base neons hold their own against the civics/sentras/focus. makes me proud. plus they have like the highest boost/production car ratio of all the other competing manufacturers it seems. im actually really in favor of the super small cars, like the scions, fit, and hornet. those nissan/toyota versions are WEAK tho!

hey, new beetles arent that bad, as long as you dont have to fix them. they are a weee bit uncomfortable on long drives for me, but my neon is too. they really bug my knee, the beetle moreso. (haha i just caught the little unintentional pun

)

I just saw in a mag that they make a SC for the fit and in Japan the already swap the engine for the K series in the civic si.......Now that is some pretty scary power to weight ratio

I think the Hornet is a much better looking vehicle than the mini-durango-Matrix-redo, oh Caliber. No offense please Jaqueline or BlueFox.(Just opinions, I'm sure you think my shitbox is ugly!haha)
The Hornet looks like the Renault, OB is right. It also resmbles many other Europeon/Rally Super Shit boxes. I'd take any of them over the mundane offerings for $ in this country. (Its kinda' old-school VW GTI with the flying brick styling)
Wisher2 is correct also. The new K series motors in the Civics are brick-shithouses and can take ALOT of bolt-on power.
Being well over 6', the thought of these micro cars makes me claustrophobic.
Realistically speaking, the Hornet is potentially Dodge's only true sport compact if they release it.
I wish they would've done the Razor or Sidewinder or Copperhead or something based on the A class Mercedes in AWD. Idiots.....

I kinda like it... if it ever came out they'd tone down the styling... might look decent if it did come out... or look uber ghey. I sorta like it though

Oh stop it silly.
I think its just showing off what Dodge can do. ie: make a box type car, 2 door(finally), turbo this engine while being a fuel saver, those new lights, and the cross-hair grille.

I looked around a bit (busy at work today) and the Hornet looks production worthy from just about every angle, except the silly lighting. I think it would be a good competitor for the Mini.
The rear wheels are pulled to the rear corners of the vehicle. Its got a low roofline, and a good motor. It REALLY looks ready for some Datsun 510 style fender flares and some 235's...haha

too bad it weighs 3100lbs.. So even with a 1.6L SC engine it will still Probably get to 60 in 10seconds.
Well wait it doesnt have the HORRIBLE CVT so maybe with the 6speed itll actually break the 7s.
