Sentry Key?

Went out to my car yesterday to go to work. I turn the key and the car starts. I first her in first then start to take off when my car randomly shuts off. I scratch my head and try to start the engine again. She just cranks but doesn't turn over. I check my battery, she read fine. checked ALL fuses, even feul pump relay. Nothing. I then thought off my extra key I got when I bought her new. Put it in and she started right up. I waited a minute to see if she died. I test drive her...she ran fine. Question to all this is, can a building access card desesitize your key? Ever heard of it just deprogramming?

i could see a magnet type thing doing that. you know the things at stores that high theft items need to be run over or else they set off the thing at the door. they specifically say do not put your credit card on there. have you been in contact with any one of those things lately.
