Interchange parts

Post by gtxmag » Mon Apr 24, 2006 12:19 pm

Are there any parts on a 2.4 engine from a 1996 dodge stratus that can be used on a 2001 Neon R/T for more power? If so which parts. I have the engine and maybe though I could get something for nothing. Yes I am cheep.

the definition of cheap is a neon owner

maybe the throttle body if it is of the same or similar design.

what about swaping the head on, dont know if its possible, maybe someone will know for sure.

cant think of anything else that could be used.

realisticly no...
If you have a 2.4 complete, id build that up instead of the 2.0 and save for a swap. The 2.0 HO stock to stock is about the same power as the 2.4 but there is more aftermarket support for the 2.4 then the 2.0. Plus to my knowledge 75% of the SRT parts will bolt onto the 2.4.....

You want cheap speed? Sell the R/T, buy an old Turbo Dodge for a few hundred bucks, turbo the 2.4, and toss it in. I guarantee you'll have plenty of money left :D :D :D

The 2.0 HO is a pretty nice little motor already. I'm not sure if swapping the head would do anything since the HO motor already has bigger ports.
