its an '04 SXT auto with only 5100 miles, thats right 5100 miles as in 5-1-0-0. the real kicker is that they picked it up for only $8500 off of an 82 yr old lady that was going to a retirement home
anyway, the thing that kinda pissed me off is that the grandma had her grandkids (about my age, maybe 20yrs old) sell the car for her. they tried telling my brother's gf that it was turbocharged and had side airbags. i made sure to let them know it wasnt turbocharged especially since it was automatic (accompanying a quick glance over the engine bay, just in case
). when i felt under/around the front seats i couldnt feel any wiring or sensors or anything that would indicate that it hide side impact airbags. i checked the manufacture date and it was 8-03.... i wasnt aware that non-srt neons had that option??? how else could i tell (short of getting t-boned) that it does in fact have side airbags (all subaru's at my work say "SRS airbag" on the side of the front seats... my brother's '00 GTi GLX VR6 is the same)i took it for a quick drive.... it seemed really solid, and the 4pd auto trans was quite a pleasant surprise... quick, quiet, smooth... i guess the slushbox isnt so bad after (not that i would drive it though if its not a stick shift!)
my friend has an '03 SXT 5spd (blaze red metallic ?) i have an '01 R/T (flame red), and my brother's gf has an '04 SXT auto (silver)... neons unite!
