I dont use my rear seats that often so i was think about taking them out..i knw the padding were ur ass sits is like 2 pounds not even, but the back part is wat i wanna take out..any noticable diffrence when taken out, expect for lighter rear end which will make my ass swing more

no way that piece of foam u sit on weighs 10lbs, i say 5 tops!

its alot noiser without the seat back in, i have an exhaust on my car and its SOOOOO much louder without it (inside the car)

what has to be done to take out the rear seat? ive been thinkin of doing this as well but i do use it sometimes (tho id rather have an excuse not to 8) )

Takes like 10-15 minutes tops to put back in if you ever do need it....


the bottom part pulls up and out...

and the top has like 3-4 bolts, i dunnno its been over a year since i pulled my shiznit out 8)

hmmmm.... get a haynes manual and follow it step by step take ya less than 2 minutes flat to pull out.

bottom pad pulls up and out in two spots, thts the easy part. the mildly harder part is the top section. 4 torx bolts (55m size) one on each side and 2 in the middle, very easy to see once u pull the bottom piece out, then pull up on each side to pull it out of the locking mechanism and take out....


if u need more explanation or pics or somthing let me know..i can try to get u some!

instructions

1. remove bottom seat pad


2. Remove 4 torx head bolts

3. Pull the back seat up and out

DONE!


to put back in

1. put the back seat back in. put the hooks in their openings by putting each one above the opening and drop into place

haha that was funny, your hand looks abnormal in that pic lol. I gave my seat a yank earlier and it didnt feel like it was coming out, and i gave it a GOOD pull. i dont wanna break anything, is there some trick to getting it out?

good write up...the rear seats are pretty simple to do, long as you have the right tools. dont forget TIME, that is the most important one!! :)

anyways, where can i get one of those torx heads? i have a set of smaller ones, but ive never seen those at a store before, mine came with some set awhile ago. they sell em everywhere like home depot and shit? ive been meaning to go but im lazy.

I just took my rear seats + back out andyou can feel a little tiny difference. The road noise is louder... :( but on the plus side the car feels a lil lighter and you can hear the Kicker BUMP better :)

Naranjablast I bought a T-55 torx head @ Napa. $4 bucks I think

went to home depot an they aint got em so i checked autozone and got a set, and came home and yanked em out. sucks cuz i had nowhere to store them till i move and get my own garage, so i had to put em back in. haha it was cool tho, easy as cake like stated above! thanks everyone.
