cat converter problem?

cat converter problem?

hi guys, just wondering if any1 has experienced this, i have had p132 (especialy when driving in rain) & p171 i have noticed decrease in fuel economy, unsmooth gear changes(car doesn't wana pull) lack of power. engine doesn't wana rev high? culd it b my cat converter b blocked or its jus had enough. also i notice there's no steam or water vapour coming out there exhaust pipe. if any1 knows what the problem is or have experienced it.pls help.thanx

i believe if your cat converter was blocked then it would turn red hot due to the blockage. let it run for about 30 minutes and then look under the car and see.

ok il try that, im not sure how blocked it has2 b for it 2go red hot. but il check it out anyways thanx.

If your cat conv is messed up you have more major problems - take it to an exhaust specialist and have them check it out - most will be able to tell you whats up.

i have to say you may just have the starting of a cat problem
i am a GM tech and i see a lot of cat problems.
the bigest 1 i see is the car will not go over 35MPH and in some cases the intake mani will melt cuz its plastic dew the back PSI.
THERE IS NO GRASS ON HER FEILD SO I PLAY ALL I WANT!!!!!
I LIVE MY LIFE A 1/4 MILE @ A TIME CUZ I MIGHT NOT LIVE PAST THAT!!!
