Cost of Mounting Tires on Rims?

Post by MorganCroft » Mon May 29, 2006 12:49 am

I am sure that someone must have done this before... but i am wondering if anyone knows the approx. cost of getting new tires mounted and balanced to Rims... The reason I ask is because the rims currently have tires on them, and I am purchasing tires online as they are way cheaper, but just want to know what it is going to approx cost to get the new tires mounted and balanced, If anyone knows... Let me know:)

I am guessing 100 bucks. I remember going to Tires Plus with a friend and they had rim and tire sets and down the list it said how much it cost to get it balanced and mounted.

You should just head to a few tire places in town and ask how much they charge to mount and rotate. Then choose between whoever you think is best.

If they have tires on them they are usually $20 a piece. If they dont then they are usually $10. Also depends on how hard they are to do.

Ya it all depends on the place and alot of the time you get what you pay for. Either shitty balancing, they scratch your wheels or you get lucky and get a good deal. Just look into it first or you may get BS

This is the thing, I work at a Firestone and come across this all the time. When you are getting tires put on and they balance them too, have them write on the work order, "DO NOT SCRATCH RIMS!"

It seems kind of retarded but techs will not scrach them rims if they see that on the work order. Most techs don't know if you care about your rims, we get alot of aftermarket wheels where people don't care about them.
