Rear suspension squeekin like a wood floarboard...

Post by nodestiny » Tue May 30, 2006 5:24 pm

Just something that started happening a few months back. Any time my supsension compressors and decompresses I hear a faint (very faint) squeeking sound like a floor board when stepped on. Koni struts, hotchkis springs and sways, and prothane bushings. Any ideas? Havnt had much time to rip into it so I figured id ask ;)

check the endlinks and the bushings in the middle of the swaybar. Did you grease them up really well when you installed them?

The other thing I can think of is the springs might not be seating right, shifted on the perch. Other then that I don't know.

Id say maybe the strut is worn, but its a Koni so its not too likely. my friends car does the same thing and we're trying to figure it out as well. could it just be sqeaky bushings like knoxville said maybe?

Agreed

If you can get someone in the back seat to jump up and down and get it to squeek. Crawl under or stick your head you car to listen for it.
