Yeah, a fellow member of the local sport compact group rear-ended me lastnight on the cruise to eat at Old Chicago. I wasn't a dick about it, cuz I know that shit happens and it would be fixed....plus, it's free for me and I now can get some aftermarket shit!

Ouch, that sux bro. Well I guess its time for the SRT Bumper and some CF trunk with a new wing on it and who knows maybe some new tails too. I hope there is no structual damage to it.

yeah, structural damage in the trunk area where the latch is...it's pushed in a bit. the only thing I'm sure of is the black LED tails...the bumper/trunk I'm not sure. I really don't need a carbon trunk cuz there's nothing else carbon on the car and would look out of place (already have a fiberglass hood, so can't get a carbon one), and I kinda want the stock bumper, but with the Mopar rear lip on it...problem is, I can't get the lip separate...gotta get both front and rear. plus, I'm getting my exhaust with the Crossfire tips out the middle of the car, so the SRT rear would be dumb (dual outlet holes + center-exit exhaust = looking gay). I dunno...could you guys help me on deciding what I should do?

Ouch Brodie!

That sucxks dood! The black LED tails sounds good, but if you are worried about the dual tipped SRT bumper, keep in mind the rear lip kit also has the two cut outs on it as well. Maybe a rolled SRT rear bumper with the centre exit exhaust?

How fast was he goin and any pics of his car?

Get the CF trunk. Get the SRT rear bumper. You can always trade those things for stock stuff plus cash and make out in the end. Or..... see if the body shop you go to will let you source new parts and cut you a check according to what they get paid for the allowance for parts. A new bumper cover and trunk are probably close to a grand from Dodge. I'm sure you could find someone selling that stuff online much much cheaper than that. Insurance paydays are THE BEST paydays.

Ouch!

That would suck if it would've been totaled... Doesn't look like it would've taken much more damage than that.

c/f would look fine, even though you don't have anything else carbon. Plus with those black LED tails.... = yummy. I know what you mean though about that c/f. I owuld personally just get everything OEM and maybe some black LED tails. And before they put the rear bumper on tell them to make an exit for the center exhaust. I take it its still driveable>?

well I know a guy that works at a really reputable body shop, and the total estimate is $4,872.36!!!! damn, I didn't think it would have cost THAT much! the trunk alone costs $785...and that's not even with refinished! I can get a real nice carbon trunk for that! if I can find someone to lay down some carbon fiber on top of my AAR Cuda hood, then I'd definately get the carbon trunk and paint it silver, but leave the rear part exposed carbon. I dunno...so many things to chose from!

my car was covered... I just pushed the fact that it was totaled. It was obvious that it was, but im sure someone will buy it cheap, straighten the frame, get a new transmission and front bumper and headlights and itll be on the road again. Now I wish I had just gotten it fixed....my caliber is teh suck right now :( :(

that is CRAZY expensive! Why dont you just go to a junkyard and get any trunk from any 00-05 neon/srt and save some money? thats where I got mine from (well acutally from a guy in FL that used to have neonparts.net) for only $100 shipped and it was in great shape, just a couple of dings in it. The junkyard here wanted like $250 for it. I think Jason had a trunk FS. the black one off the srt4 donor. You would just have to fill the holes, which shouldnt be aproblem anyways since you would be painting it. You could flat black the trunk ;)

either way, look around before you just buy all those parts. It really saves in the long run to take your time finding parts because you can find the best deals. I always check EVERYwhere possible when I get an idea, because I want to save as much as i can

Saving money is fun!

Dude you can paint your AAR hood black and get a c/f trunk. That would very good with your rims and your CUDA stripes.

if his damage is close to mine its not just the trunk and bumper its the metal piece that the trunklid latch is attached to where the bumper screws in.. you could try to bend it back or cut and weld another one from another 2gn neon

I had to have the shop replace the whole rear of my car and it sat on the frame strecher thing for a couple days. Both rear quarter panels, Trunk lid, Bumber, taillights, spoiler, Everything was mangled inside the trunk. I nearly choked to death when the estimate came out to $6k+

But its all better now
