Birthday in profile

Post by SteelBlue » Fri Jun 02, 2006 5:16 pm

Okay, I feel pretty stupid for even bringing this up but my birthday is wrong on my profile. Now, I've tried changing it half a dozen times in the past month (so that it showed the right day) but it still doesn't work.. I'll fix the date (10th) and click on something like occupation so that there isn't any chance of it changing if I scroll down but when I hit the submit button and view profile again the date is still wrong. Am I just doing something wrong somehow? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is the date changing before you hit Submit button for the page changes? Also, make sure your Autofill is off if you use the Google toolbar. Sometimes, fields can be filled in on accident... The incorrect date that it keeps changing to - What date does it change to?

No, It says the 10th before I hit submit but when I go to the profile again it shows the 9th. The month and year are correct but it doesn't like the 10th. 8-10-85 is my bday but it always says 9. :? I don't use a google toolbar or anything so this has me completely baffled.

yeah i can't change mine either, i just let it go for a while, but since you mentioned it i figured i'd bring it up. I can't change it to December 11th, it just shows up the 10th. But I don't really care that much.

Ok, so if 10 = 9, and 11 = 10, if you set it a day ahead, would it fix it?

SteelBluePearl - it shows the 10th for me... is it still showing the 9th for you?

Nick Drake - Yours also shows the 11th :-? What is it showing for you?

Okay... I found a little quirk with the forum and I think I've fixed it.

If you remember there were 6 options to get the correct time in your profile. Nick Drake and SteelBluePearl both had their options set on the 4th setting down which for some reason the last 3 settings didn't work. When you saved your profile changes it would for some strange reason change the birthday date back one day. I'm not sure why but it did that but it did. Since the last three time options in the profile didn't work I went ahead and completely removed them from everyones profile to eliminate the problem all together. I also went ahead and for everyone that had options 4-6 set in their profile I changed it to option 3 which is "Manual settings - DST switches synchronized with the server", that should correct the problem for everyone on the forum that has their settings set to one of the options that did not work.

As it stand right now there used to be 6 choices for fixing the time on the forum but since the last 3 did not work I have remoeved them completely.

The server is hosted in a location where Daylight Savings Time does exist. If you live in an area where Daylight Savings time does not exist such as Hawaii and Arizona you will have to go in and change your time settings to disable DST.

If you have any questions about anything I just tried to explain, please ask.

Yep...
Some U.S. areas

For the U.S. and its territories, Daylight Saving Time is NOT observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Arizona. The Navajo Nation participates in the Daylight Saving Time policy, even in Arizona, due to its large size and location in three states.
