factory amp?

Post by slonoma98 » Mon Jun 12, 2006 12:05 pm

I took out the factory radio out of my 00 Neon and noticed it had a connection at the back that was labeled "amp". Anyone have the specs on the factory amp and where it's located? Thanks

I'm not sure if even the neons with the Kicker sound system had one except for the subwoofer.

The plug was labeled "amp" and it was connected to a male spade connector on the left side (looking at the back of the receiver) of the receiver. There was another male spade connector next to that one but nothing was attached to it. The car comes with 4 disc changer and tape deck if that makes any difference.

The plug you are reffering to is the line going to your changer. I don't bellive there is an option for a stereo that would have an amp besides the kicker system and that is just for the sub.

Actually the plug for the changer is on the right side of the deck. This plug is more of a spade connector. I did find a small silver box looking thing under the center console, which may be the amp. I'll have to take some pics.

Thats your Airbag Modual. I don't know its possible it does have one I doubt it though. Did you pay extra for a premium stereo? Do you have the regualer head unit that the rest of us got and is found in most dodge car/trucks.

You would be correct... when tearing down my donor car I never saw an amp.. it's gonna be int he CD Player thats probably why the thing is so huge.
