Silencing the SRT-4 Cat-Back

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Silencing the SRT-4 Cat-Back

Post by Young Gunna » Fri Jun 16, 2006 12:54 am

I ve heard that the SRT exhaust on a NA car is VERY loud, is there any chance that by adding something to the piping (i dunno if resonators are for quietning or more noise), theres alot of great deals on srt-4 exhausts right now

iwanted to preform a rear end swap to my 2000, so i wanted to drop on the exhaust b4 i go turbo (if neone asks u didnt hear me say that)

Resonators are for quiteing...if you're going all show no go, get the biggest one you can find. Thrush sells some glass-pack resonators on jegs.com for cheap....about $20.

The stock srt exhaust has 2 resonators on the midpipe, but even with those the exhaust is still loud. I should know  from what i have heard a 31" glasspack should do good for a nice grumble sound

glasspack of course! if youre boostin, dont worry about it, the turbo will actually quiet it down a lot (see srt4).
