MADDOG 72% STS w/ BOOGER BUSHINGS

Post by grambo » Fri Jun 16, 2006 3:21 pm

Got the Maddog STS at a great price through an SRTforums Group Buy. (I previously had a B&M w/ Booger Bushings)

After an easy install,(Buy new Booger Bushings so you can just cut the old ones out...it is SO easy that way!) the shifter was REALLY stiff and felt really foreign.
I commuted in the car for two weeks and now the STS/Boogers are broken in. The shifter is phenominal and confidence inspiring. I've let plenty of people drive the car and they say it feels like a ProStock Drag Shifter. Just awesome and fun to use.
This unit is a TRUE STS and really does shorten shift times. Worth every penny. :D

I really wanna feel this STS, cuz mine is stiff as a brick, and consistantly garners phrases such as "holy shit", and "oh fuck!" from anyone who I let throw it around a bit. And my Mopure is only rated at 40% redux, not including a few extra percent that i got by having the shaft cut down a bit. still tho, with boogers this thing was unmovable when i first installed it. I love my STS tho!

congrats grambo I know youll enjoy that mod for days!

Yes. I trimmed the "outer" shoulder carefully with some dikes and just popped the old ones off. (I had a friend steady the shifter while I pryed carefully with the screwingdriver.

And YES, it was stiff as fug withthe new bushings in. Its still pretty stiff but is better than the first few days...haha
