Are throttle Position sensors all the same for all model Neons or is there a differ between car models?

There was a running change during '01.
Fix it 'till it's broken. Then upgrade.

If anyone has some answers for me could you help me out........here is the deal.......I just went to the dealer and they checked the voltage and it seems to be in perfect order. They put a new tps in aside from the brand new one that I just put in and the code still trips..........everything is to speck voltage wise and neither I nor the techs at dodge can figure this problem out......I have no ruff idle or sputtering or anything else.......When I put the pedal to the floor the cell immediately chimes in telling me that It is recieving a voltage spike........I repeat.......EVERY TIME!!!!!! I go WOT it spikes but any other time it is just fine..........Please dont tell me the obvious like "well maybe you shouldnt floor it" well then what would the point of it being an R/T if I cant jump on it from time to time?.......anyways any thoughts or suggestions would be helpfull and much appreciated

Need to check voltage with a O-scope at this point to find out what is up. See if voltage is spiking on the Reference side or Sensor side. Then go from there. Dealer has some work to do it sounds like. If the reference voltage is bad the it is the PCM if sensor side then may be bad ground or yet another sensor. But it needs to be scoped and if digitaly scoped with glitch capture on. If no problems exists electircally then it is just a PCM.

Wires should be checked from PCM to TPS for contnuity (resistance) on all 3 wires. Then with scope on all lines you find your problem.

**Sorry about that...just saw Office Space again the other day and figured, since it is 1AM i would chime in a useless post!**

TPsensor problem solved

Post by Wisher2 » Fri Jun 23, 2006 3:23 pm

I took it to the dealer today and they checked it and the voltage is fine until it hit's WOT then it drops from 4.6 to 1........They started checking wires and found that for some reason there is no resistance on a whole bunch of wires so they are scope things out right now......I was told that if it is the PCM then it will be covered under Cali emmisions liability waranty that I guess the state has for all new cars up to a certain year.....anyways....I will keep people posted on the haps of this just incase it ever happens to someone else.......I will also give the full report of the findings and maybe we can sticky this when done so that people can always check if they have any TPsensor problems

Update:

The dude that owned the car before me took the throttle body stopage bracket off the car so now when I floor it the butterfly dosent stop where it is supposed to and opens further resulting in a spike in the tpsensors therefore creating a rapid voltage drop from the ecu whichs then the ecu dleans my fuel causing a lag in acceleration........WOW......now I guess I will be buying a Mpx TB since it is the exact same price as a standard mopar issue....260.00
